I made these for a special friend in Sweden who was looking for something nice as a wedding gift. I had a lot of fun shopping for the beads for these, but decided finally to go with the blue. After all, who doesn't like blue?
I've been procrastinating (which is something I'm pretty good at might I add)... with the kid being sick and a house full of guests this school holiday, I haven't been able to complete an order from an event organizing company. The company is responsible for holding a monthly ladies night which includes a fancy dinner and games for a group of regular clients. They've placed an order for some frangipani napkin rings specifically for these events. So today I decided to just get it over with, and I did.
- A friend of a friend who's working at the Irish Embassy here has requested a few design samples for a dinner the embassy is hosting in May. They wanted them in green and yellow.. the colors of the Irish flag I suppose.. These are what I've come up with. This is the first time Im using crystal beads for my napkin rings and I love it!
See them sparkle? Now you can add some pretty bling bling to your dinner table! I especially like the 3rd one, but I've had many people saying they prefer the first. Oh well :)
Material used: Combination of glass and crystal beads.
I've been so busy lately with the kid being sick and a house full of guests, and after my tutorial I did few weeks ago, I've decided to take a break from beading, or whatever it is that I do here.
But today I was out and found these little yellow fabric flowers and decided that this blog has been idle for long enough. So I've made one more for my garden wedding collection, ok I promise this will be the last and since it's the last, I've decided to include one of my favorite poems.
...I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where, I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this: where I does not exist, nor you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
~ Pablo Neruda
These are perfect for any occasion especially outdoor in the sun. Be it a picnic, a lunch or even a garden wedding, these little beauties aren't only affordable, but they will surely liven the party up!
- A friend of mine had just moved to a new apartment and is throwing a party this coming Saturday. Another friend bought her a set of red placemats with yellow trimming as a house-warming gift while I have decided to design a set of napkin rings that matches these mats.
Every house where love abides
And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest. ~Henry Van Dyke
Congratulations on your new apartment Sarina & Lars!
Recently aphotographer friend of minedid me a HUGE favor by coming over to my place and took some really awesome shots of my products. I couldn't thank him enough! These are some of my favorites.
I'm preparing another set of elegant napkin rings as a gift! This time it's for a friend of mine who moved into her new cozy little apartment more than 6 months ago, I guess it's about time I gave her a little house-warming gift. She wanted something green, and being someone with exquisite taste, designing something that she would like wasn't easy. So I've decided to use one of my favorite designs, combine glass and crystals beads, with two shades of green and some gold. The result is delightful! I hope she likes it.
It's a lazy Sunday afternoon, so I thought I'd just work with whatever I have at the moment. Found these foamy frangipanis I bought a couple of months ago, added some green leaves and used wood-like hoops as the holder instead of beads. Maybe they'll make a nice gift one day.
I've chosen design #1 for the order. 16 pieces.. will take a few hours to complete it. The good thing about this spiral design is they are easy to make. Here's how my table looks like when I'm at work..
